IPhone 3GS…Toast?

This might strike all of you as a bit… odd, but there have been reports of new iPhone 3GS’s… Toasting…

Yes, I mean heating up, and turning brown

It seems, that some of the proud owners of the new iPhone 3Gs have been noticing that their iphones have started to get hot all along the surface of the phone. Soon after, a weird discoloration occurs along the back. This makes the phone acquire a brown hue along the back.

Melissa J. Perenson of PC World-

And at some point, I became aware the handset had become very hot. Very, very hot — not just on the back, but the entire length of the front face, too. I was using a game, and then later the Web browser for reading the news about Michael Jackson, all over a Wi-Fi connection while plugged in. And in those circumstances, well…toasty doesn’t even describe how surprisingly hot it got. It was too hot to even put the phone against my face. No discoloration to report, though; I have the black handset, and didn’t see any effects.

Now this is very interesting for mainly one reason, is this what will become of Apple? Has their constant need to make things smaller, more effective, more productive, finally catching up to them? Are they forcing one device to be too much?

These reports have been popping up frequently across Apple’s forums and around the net. Who knows, yours could be next!

I orginally saw this a wired.com

iPhone 3GS Jailbreak Delayed by The Dev Team

This is very upsetting news for all you jailbreaking freaks out there. The iPhone 3GS does indeed have a jailbreak and a hackable exploit but they are waiting for the newer firmware, 3.0.1 which will fix numerous bugs found in 3.0. Also they are going to fix some UI problems that they had with Ultrasn0w so that you can unlock the iPhone 3g and 3GS. So iPhone 3GS users, looks like you will have to have some patience on this one but hey, at least you know it is indeed coming. I will keep you updated all the way until the release date.

Pocket Projector for the iPhone

Pocket projectors are all the rage now, the ability to use a projector the size of an iPod to display information on a wall is a godsend for the business set, who look to expand the ability to make presentations without having to travel with expensive projectors or having to customize their presentations to what equipment is available. But while getting more popular, projectors like the PICO and the Mili Pro – which can connect to an iPhone or iPod Touch – are still in their infancy.

At it’s current state of technology, the MiLi Pro can project a 640×480 resolution image up to about 30 inches away before the lumens simply dissipate from distance. So, while it won’t project in very large meeting places, it can work for small, intimate gatherings where the presentation can be seen on a 40? screen area.

The Pro, which has a dock for the iPod Touch/iPhone also comes with VGA and RCA connectors which enable it to work with larger LCD screens directly. And it’s own adjustable stand makes for easy tweaking to get the image just right on screen. Charges in about three hours and comes with integrated speakers as well.

But don’t forget you’re only talking about a resolution just about VHS quality, so don’t expect to be watching HD video with it.
