This might strike all of you as a bit… odd, but there have been reports of new iPhone 3GS’s… Toasting…

Yes, I mean heating up, and turning brown

It seems, that some of the proud owners of the new iPhone 3Gs have been noticing that their iphones have started to get hot all along the surface of the phone. Soon after, a weird discoloration occurs along the back. This makes the phone acquire a brown hue along the back.

Melissa J. Perenson of PC World-

And at some point, I became aware the handset had become very hot. Very, very hot — not just on the back, but the entire length of the front face, too. I was using a game, and then later the Web browser for reading the news about Michael Jackson, all over a Wi-Fi connection while plugged in. And in those circumstances, well…toasty doesn’t even describe how surprisingly hot it got. It was too hot to even put the phone against my face. No discoloration to report, though; I have the black handset, and didn’t see any effects.

Now this is very interesting for mainly one reason, is this what will become of Apple? Has their constant need to make things smaller, more effective, more productive, finally catching up to them? Are they forcing one device to be too much?

These reports have been popping up frequently across Apple’s forums and around the net. Who knows, yours could be next!

I orginally saw this a wired.com
