To start off, I want to explain my lack of articles lately. I probably should have mentioned that I am currently in the proud state of Wisconsin, this means I am over a thousand miles from my computer. Now I COULD have mentioned this before leaving in the miraculous forums…. but I don’t get paid enough to… Anyways, this has been my first chance to write since leaving, and I plan to use it well.

I was quickly browsing through the App Store, when I found a shiny game. I saw a picture of a guy in armor, and the screen shots looked cool, so I bought Knights Onrush for $2.99 After about five minutes, I started to feel that sinking feeling in the pit of my soul. You all know that feeling; if you don’t, open iTunes right now and click BUY on something, ANYTHING, without looking at it. NOT you have the same feeling I had.

It was during the two day road trip that I got around to playing Knights Onrush, and I was thankfully surprised. Turns out, Knights is one of those “defend the castle” games. The ones where a bundle of enemies run to your gates and thrust their crappy swords, trying desperatly to break through your defenses, all the while you pick up all of their friends and throw them in the air and giggle to yourself as they splat on  the ground.

I know what you are all thinking, “Wait a minute… There are tons of flash games out there that I can play for free!” Well, no their aren’t. Knights adds a bit of a twist on the chaos with their weapon system.
I ask you, “what could be more awesome than throwing hundreds of little warriors into the air and watching them splat as they hit the ground?” Hows about dropping giant rocks, fireballs, stone pillars, another fireball, a siege unit that explodes, a third fireball and so on.

This really changes up the gameplay and allows you to watch as an army of ninjas gets burnt by fireballs. Also, the unit types do a lot to change up the basic, “throw up, watch fly, watch splat, giggle” method of gameplay. Mages, siege weapons, ninjas, random guys carrying explosive barrels all join the ranks of the common warriors and all need different strategy. Granted, most of the  strategy involves watching more splatters.

There are three game modes in Knights Onrush. These include a basic campaign, and two arcade-like modes. In these, you do back to the, “throw as much as fast as possible” mentality and compete for high scores. They kill time, and the, “Madness” game type invites many a 300 quote, but I got bored of them fast.
All in all, this is another great game from Moregames Entertainment and defiantly worth the sinking feeling and the three bucks.

It would be helpful if BB were to enable the ability for me to write from my iPhone, which I just learned I can jailbreak when I get back home.
