Google To Buy AdMob, A Mobile Ad Company

Google plans on buying mobile advertising provider ‘AdMob’ for $750 million in stock.

AdMob is a huge ad company ,probably the biggest after Google Adsense. AdMob is seen a lot on the Android Operating System’s applications and even in the App Store for Apple.

AdMob is said to still be in its early stages and that it has a lot more things in store for the upcoming years. Could this take over the top spot in advertising over Google Adsense? I do not think so because Adsense gets helped a lot from youtube and AdMob is not incorperated with Youtube yet.

AdMob has always focused more on ads for applications rather than in a web

browser or on web pages but that can change once Google takes ownership. The acquisition shows just how serious Google is about mobile and about display advertising, said Greg Sterling of Sterling Market Intelligence.

This is a huge acquisition for Google since AdMob was their biggest rival in the whole advertising game.

Also, Google’s competitors including Yahoo, AOL and Microsoft have also recently made acquisitions of mobile advertising companies, I am curious as to what those may be and the functionality of them.

Both Google and AdMob have approved the acquisition and it is now a done deal.
